Moot Rot

‘Moot Rot’ is an identity that many people who grew up in the Moot, or live there, associate with. It is for those who are a little more hardcore. It speaks to those who are free-spirited and wild at heart.

‘Moot Rot’ is another celebration of Pretoria’s most passionate neighbourhood, the Moot. It features a white, red-eyed rat exiting from a decorated pipe above the Union Buildings. If you didn’t know, the Moot is tucked away in the valley between the Magaliesberg and the Union Buildings.

A nod to the strength, resilience, ingenuity and pride of those ‘Moot rotte’.
